Abstract

Ethical misconducts in the forms of fabrication and falsification essentially have a broad impact on the dignity of science. Various negative impacts can arise not only for the individual concerned but also for related institutions and the wider community. The spread of false information (hoaxes) due to the publication of invalid analysis results, causes division in society. As academics with integrity, we should act under existing ethical guidelines. Understanding the concept of fabrication and falsification and exploring the impact and consequences of these violations from past stories is expected to help avoid similar incidents in the future.
